Xbox Game Pass is set to enhance its December lineup with the addition of 12 new titles, including two day-one releases. Prominently featured in this month’s offerings are the Remnant games. Both Remnant: From the Ashes and its newly launched sequel, Remnant II, are recognized for their challenging souls-like shooter mechanics, where players face formidable fantastical enemies in procedurally generated environments. The sequel is expected to attract a larger player base, making it an appealing option especially for those interested in co-op gameplay.

Another significant title arriving this month is Far Cry 6, which plunges players into the vibrant tropical landscape of Yara, as they attempt to overthrow the tyrannical dictator Antón Castillo, played by Giancarlo Esposito. Castillo aims to use a hazardous cancer treatment called Viviro to rejuvenate his rule and the island. This title will be available on December 14 through Xbox Game Pass.

The impressive array of games this December aligns with the festive season, likely serving to entice more subscribers to the Game Pass service. Rise of the Tomb Raider makes a noteworthy return, placing players in the role of famed explorer Lara Croft. In this installment, Lara confronts a sprawling mystery linked to The Order of Trinity, which seeks ancient artifacts that could alter humanity’s course. This sequel, set in the enigmatic Lost City of Kitezh in Siberia, is the second entry in a trilogy reboot by Crystal Dynamics and launches on December 5 for PC, console, and cloud.

For those looking to unleash their creativity, SteamWorld Build invites players to construct a whimsical mining town complete with charming roads and townsfolk. The game’s focus is on excavating lost space technology vital for saving a deteriorating planet. It launches as a day-one title on Xbox Game Pass and is now available for download on PC and console. In another engaging choice, While the Iron’s Hot transports players to an intricate pixelated RPG experience on the mysterious island of Ellian. Here, players can explore, forge new equipment, and solve puzzles within a vibrant community. This title is accessible on cloud, console, and PC.

Gamers can also dive into co-op action with World War Z: Aftermath, where they will face massive zombie hordes while securing civilian safety in thrilling battles. Based on the film starring Brad Pitt, this well-received game will join the Game Pass slate on December 5. After intense gameplay, players can unwind with Goat Simulator 3, where the objective is to cause mayhem as a mischievous goat through a sandbox environment.
