The highly anticipated Death Stranding Director’s Cut has officially launched on the App Store, now accessible via iPhone, iPad, and Mac systems. Developed by Kojima Productions, this unique package delivery adventure can be played on iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models equipped with the A17 Pro chip, as well as on iPads and Macs that utilize the M1 chip or newer. The mobile version was first announced during Apple’s WWDC event in June of the previous year, following the game’s initial debut as a PlayStation exclusive in 2019 and subsequent release on PC.

According to 505 Games, the studio responsible for adapting the game for Apple platforms, Death Stranding on iPhone, iPad, and Mac is designed to run natively on Apple Silicon. The integration of MetalFX Upscaling enhances visual quality, ensuring an optimized gaming experience, as highlighted in a recent blog post on Tuesday.

The game is currently offered at a promotional price of Rs. 1,999, reflecting a 50 percent discount available until February 20. Additionally, Death Stranding Director’s Cut supports universal purchasing, allowing users to buy the game once and access it across compatible Apple devices without additional costs.

This mobile version includes features such as a high frame rate mode and a photo mode, along with crossover content from renowned franchises like Valve’s Half-Life series and CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. Players will need to sign in to iCloud and enable iCloud Drive to engage in gameplay. Furthermore, the title mandates iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS version 13.3 or later, and it requires approximately 77GB of available storage space.

Since the introduction of the iPhone 15, Apple has been actively expanding its catalog of AAA games for mobile platforms. Recently, the much-lauded Resident Evil 4 remake was released for the iPhone 15 Pro and compatible iPad and Mac devices. Looking ahead, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, launched across PC and consoles in October 2022, is expected to arrive on iPhones in 2024.

The Director’s Cut of Death Stranding, which debuted on PS5 in late 2021, includes improved graphics, enhanced performance, and new gameplay elements. Players assume the role of Sam Porter Bridges, portrayed by Norman Reedus, on a mission to reconnect fragmented communities in a post-apocalyptic United States.
