Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive a new update, Update 2.3, later this month, despite initial expectations that the game’s update cycle had concluded with the release of Update 2.2 in December 2024. Since then, developer CD Projekt Red has shifted its focus toward The Witcher 4 and an anticipated sequel to Cyberpunk. However, the Polish studio now reveals it is not finished with Cyberpunk 2077 just yet. The announcement came during a livestream regarding the game’s launch on Nintendo Switch 2.
Announcement of Cyberpunk Update 2.3
The forthcoming Update 2.3 is scheduled to launch on June 26, with more details expected to be disclosed in the lead-up to the release. “Before we wrap up, there’s one question that’s repeated in the chat a lot,” said Alicja Kozera, CD Projekt Red’s senior community manager, during the livestream for the Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 launch. “You’ve been asking for another DLC for Cyberpunk. And I can tell you right now that we’re planning another part for the game. The last one wasn’t the last one.”
Marcin Momot, the studio’s global community director, also took to X to reinforce the message. “We’re not done yet,” he stated, confirming further details would be available soon regarding the upcoming Update 2.3.
Pawel Sasko, an associate game director at CD Projekt Red, reiterated this announcement on X, expressing his personal involvement in the development of the upcoming patch.

Ongoing Support for Cyberpunk 2077
The announcement of Update 2.3 highlights CD Projekt Red’s commitment to post-launch support for Cyberpunk 2077. The game, which launched on December 10, 2020, faced considerable criticism due to numerous bugs, glitches, and performance problems on older consoles. Since then, the studio has issued various major updates aimed at rectifying these issues, implementing new features, and enhancing gameplay systems.
Patch 2.0 was released in conjunction with the game’s first major expansion, Phantom Liberty, in 2023, which included significant changes such as a revised police system and updated skill trees.
Update 2.1, touted as the last major patch before Update 2.2, introduced several long-awaited features, including a metro system, romantic partner interactions, and new radio stations. Following this, Update 2.2 arrived in December 2024, adding further customization options, a revamped photo mode, and new interactions with character Johnny Silverhand.
This year, Patch 2.21 was also rolled out, providing support for Nvidia DLSS 4 on PC and addressing numerous fixes across platforms.
Additionally, on June 5, CD Projekt Red released the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which combines the base game with the Phantom Liberty expansion, coinciding with the Nintendo Switch 2 launch.
Looking ahead, CD Projekt Red is currently developing a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which has shed its Project Orion designation and has officially been titled Cyberpunk 2. The game is now in its pre-production phase, as confirmed during the company’s first-quarter earnings call last month.
