The CMF Phone 2, the eagerly awaited successor to last year’s innovative CMF Phone 1, is likely to debut soon, showcasing several design enhancements. The subsidiary of Nothing has begun to tease the release of its second-generation device, unveiling what seems to be the rear panel of the CMF Phone 2. According to the latest teaser, the new model might feature a fresh matte finish.
Anticipated Design Features of CMF Phone 2
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the smartphone manufacturer shared a glimpse of the rear panel for the anticipated CMF Phone 2. A short video highlights the device’s plastic edges and a screw that secures the updated rear panel. The video also reveals a glossy rear section complemented by a matte finish.
The teaser does not specify the material used for the rear panel, which could either be plastic or aluminum. The current model includes a polycarbonate rear, with the blue variant featuring vegan leather. The CMF by Nothing logo is prominently displayed on the bottom left, exhibiting varying shades depending on the angle it is viewed from.
Recent leaks suggest that the CMF Phone 2 will be outfitted with a triple rear camera configuration, marking an improvement over the 50-megapixel primary and portrait sensors found in the first iteration. An image of the complete rear panel was disclosed in the leak, and the left side appears to correspond with the version shown in CMF’s teaser.
Another noteworthy feature of the CMF Phone 2 is the Accessory Point system, which allows for the attachment of various accessories such as a phone stand, card case, or lanyard. The leaked information suggests that this new model will maintain compatibility with these accessories.
The anticipated smartphone is set to arrive with incremental hardware upgrades compared to its predecessor, the CMF Phone 1. This first-generation model boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor. Additionally, it is equipped with a substantial 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
