Anthropic has broadened the array of applications and platforms that its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Claude, can interact with. Earlier this year, the company launched a feature called Integrations, utilizing its Model Context Protocol (MCP) to facilitate connections with remote servers across web and desktop applications. On Monday, Anthropic unveiled a directory of tools that are compatible with Claude, along with a selection of new third-party connectors. This update includes integrations with platforms such as Notion, Canva, and Stripe, as well as local desktop applications like Figma, Socket, and Prisma.
Claude Now Functions as an AI Agent for Canva Tasks
In a recent post on their newsroom, Anthropic highlighted the launch of the new directory and the enhanced list of platforms compatible with Claude. Users can access this directory by selecting the “Connect your tools to Claude” dropdown menu located underneath the text entry box in both the web and desktop applications. This action directs users to a new Connectors page where they can view all the platforms supporting Claude’s integration.
By simply checking the box next to the names of the desired platforms, users can establish a connection. Following this, they can input their requests, enabling Claude to independently connect to the chosen platform and carry out the task much like an AI agent would.
For example, a user can give Claude a design brief asking for the creation of a social media post. The AI chatbot will seamlessly link to the user’s Canva account, navigate the various tools and features in the design application, and initiate a new project. Users can also utilize this functionality to modify existing projects.
It’s worth mentioning that last month, Canva launched its open MCP servers, which allow AI chatbots to integrate with the platform. With this development, Claude has become the first chatbot to leverage this capability. To clarify, MCP is an open standard protocol crafted by Anthropic that enables AI systems to connect with data hubs and knowledge sources, akin to a USB-C port allowing two devices to link via a cable.
The Integrations feature and access to connect with different remote MCP servers are exclusively available to users possessing an active subscription to Claude’s Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise plans.
