Anthropic has announced an upgrade to its Claude AI chatbot, introducing a feature that allows users to create AI-driven applications directly within the interface. This new functionality, currently in beta, enhances the existing Artifacts feature launched last year, which enables users to visualize and engage with the tasks they assign to Claude.

In a recent blog post, the company stated, “Start building in the Claude app by enabling this new interactive capability.” Users can simply describe their desired project, and Claude will generate the necessary code. This process resembles “vibe coding,” but with the added benefit of immediate feedback within the Claude platform. A demonstration video from Anthropic showcases the development of a chat app using this feature, providing a glimpse into its functionality here.

Initial users have successfully created a variety of applications, including AI-driven games, educational tools, data analysis programs, writing aids, and agent workflows that manage multiple interactions with Claude for more intricate tasks. The AI will be able to interact with these applications via an API integration.

The company is also promoting sharing of the applications created using its platform, noting that any API usage from other users will be billed against their subscription, rather than the original creator’s account.

This new feature is accessible to users across Anthropic’s Free, Pro, and Max subscription tiers.
