The anticipated new installment in the Call of Duty series, titled Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, appears to have received its first promotional tease. A recent video reveal features live-action scenes depicting a group of figures defacing Mount Rushmore with the provocative message, “The Truth Lies.” This tease is part of a larger marketing campaign associated with the upcoming game.
The unveiling was brought to light by CharlieIntel, a notable X account dedicated to Call of Duty news. A new promotional website—thetruthlies.com—has emerged, suggesting further insights into the next chapter of the franchise. The site features an old-school interactive television set reminiscent of those found in earlier Black Ops titles, allowing users to manipulate six channels, adjust the volume, and operate the recording function.
The initial channel presents live-action footage where a team of armed mercenaries assaults the Mount Rushmore monument at night, vandalizing it with banners marked “The Truth Lies.”
Another channel displays individuals affixing “The Truth Lies” posters across a city street. The remaining four channels show static, indicating that additional video teasers may be released in the future.
Additionally, prominent leaker billbil-kun shared a blurred image purported to be key art for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on X. Although obscured, the design resembles the original box art from the 2010 Call of Duty: Black Ops.
While Activision has yet to announce the new Call of Duty officially, it is widely believed to be launching later this year. Earlier this month, Treyarch, the studio known for developing past Black Ops titles, reportedly hinted at the next installment being Black Ops 6 following the previous title in 2020, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.
In related news, Microsoft, which acquired Activision for $69 billion last year, is rumored to be planning to add the upcoming game to its Game Pass subscription service.
Furthermore, Microsoft has scheduled an Xbox Games Showcase for June 9, where it is expected to unveil more details about the future of the Call of Duty franchise.
