Beyerdynamic has unveiled the second iteration of its popular Aventho wireless headphones, which first hit the market in 2017. The latest model, the Aventho 100, retains the original’s 45mm drivers but adds enhanced Bluetooth capabilities and substantially improved battery life, offering an additional 40 hours of playback.
Initially, the Aventho 100 will be available in Canada via Amazon.ca for CAD 299.99 (approximately USD 220) and can also be purchased through the company’s European online store for €199, in color choices of black, brown, and cream. This represents a significant price reduction from the original launch price of €449 (around USD 525). Beyerdynamic has indicated that the headphones will later become available in other global markets, including the United States, although no specific timeline has been provided.
The previous model, the original Aventho, was designed with a lightweight and compact aesthetic inspired by Beyerdynamic’s discontinued T51i wired headphones. The new Aventho 100 model is slightly bulkier to accommodate a larger battery and internal components. The 630mAh battery allows for up to 60 hours of playtime, or 40 hours with active noise cancellation activated, compared to the original’s 20 hours without noise cancellation support.
When the battery does run low, a 15-minute quick charge offers users an additional 15 hours of playback. Additionally, a 3.5mm audio cable is included for wired listening options.
The Aventho 100 also showcases advancements in connectivity, including support for Bluetooth 5.4 and codecs such as aptX Lossless and Adaptive. Other enhancements include a USB-C charging port, Qualcomm’s clear voice capture technology for superior call clarity, and replaceable ear pads for increased longevity. The new model also improves upon aesthetics with a braided wrap covering the previously exposed wire linking the ear cups, enhancing both durability and style.
