Electronic Arts has announced details regarding the forthcoming open beta for Battlefield 6, outlining the multiplayer maps, modes, and challenges available to players participating in the playtests. The open beta for this highly anticipated military shooter will take place over two weekends this month, specifically from August 9 to August 10 and again from August 14 to August 17. Players interested in joining can now also pre-load Battlefield 6 on supported platforms.
Overview of Battlefield 6 Open Beta
Players who registered for Battlefield Labs before July 31, along with EA Play Pro members, will receive early access to the first open beta starting August 7. The initial weekend of the Battlefield 6 open beta will feature three distinct maps: Siege of Cairo, Liberation Peak, and Iberian Offensive, as confirmed in a blog post published on Monday by EA.
According to the publisher, each map includes various combat zones tailored for different game modes. During this first beta weekend, players will have access to five multiplayer modes: Conquest, Closed Weapons Breakthrough, Breakthrough, Domination, and King of the Hill.
The beta will also introduce seven challenges, with four specifically linked to the available character classes. Successfully completing these challenges during the weekend will reward players with in-game items that can be utilized when the full game is officially released in October.
The second beta phase will commence on August 14, adding to the previous trio of maps the New York-based Empire State map. This second weekend will also introduce two new game modes, Rush and Squad Deathmatch, supplementing the modes from the first weekend while adding three additional challenges for players to complete.

The open beta will be accessible on PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC through platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App. Pre-loading is currently available across all platforms. Early access kicks off on August 7 at 8:00 UTC (1 am PT or 1:30 pm IST) for those who registered for Battlefield Labs before the deadline or for EA Play Pro subscribers.
For all others, the first open beta weekend will begin on August 9 at 8:00 UTC (1:30 pm IST) and conclude on August 11 at the same time, while the second open beta weekend will start on August 14 and wrap up on August 17 under identical timings.
Battlefield 6 is set to officially launch on October 10, 2025, across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
