Apple has officially announced that its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2025) will take place in June, kicking off a five-day event that promises to showcase the company’s latest software innovations. Starting on June 9 and concluding on June 13, the conference will begin with a keynote presentation highlighting upcoming advancements across Apple’s software platforms, and it will be available at no cost to all developers.

In a blog post, Apple revealed that this year’s WWDC will be conducted virtually, ensuring accessibility for every developer interested in participating. “WWDC25 will spotlight the latest advancements in Apple software. As part of Apple’s ongoing commitment to supporting developers, the conference will provide them with unique access to Apple experts, as well as insight into new tools, frameworks, and features,” the company stated.

Throughout the week, developers and students will have the opportunity to engage with WWDC via the Apple Developer app, the Apple Developer website, and the Apple Developer YouTube channel. On the opening day of the conference, Apple will host a special in-person event at Apple Park, where attendees can watch the Keynote and Platforms State of the Union while participating in one-on-one sessions and group labs with Apple experts.

Additionally, the winners of the Swift Student Challenge are set to be announced on March 27, with selected winners gaining eligibility to attend the special event at Apple Park. Notably, Apple will invite 50 Distinguished Winners, recognized for exceptional submissions, to enjoy a three-day experience in Cupertino. Comprehensive details about the conference sessions can be found on a dedicated page from Apple.

WWDC 2025: What to anticipate

This year’s WWDC is expected to unveil new versions of Apple’s software, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. Reports suggest that significant changes are on the horizon for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, with the mobile and desktop operating systems poised for their most substantial redesigns in over a decade and five years, respectively. These updates are expected to feature a fresh look with redesigned icons, menus, and other system elements, drawing inspiration from visionOS.
