Apple has launched the macOS Sequoia 15.3 Developer Beta 1 for Mac users on Monday, coinciding with updates for its various other devices. This update not only includes enhancements and fixes for system performance but also introduces a notable feature linked to Apple Intelligence, the company’s artificial intelligence suite. Beta testers now have the opportunity to utilize Genmoji on their Macs, enabling them to design custom emojis inspired by prompts or their family and friends.
Genmoji Comes to Mac
Genmoji was initially showcased at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 in June. It was subsequently made available on iPhone and iPad, initially for beta users before being released to the general public. Apple’s release notes indicate that the Mac is the latest addition to the Apple ecosystem to incorporate this AI-driven feature through the new macOS Sequoia 15.3 Developer Beta 1 update.
Users have multiple options for engaging with Genmoji. One avenue is through Image Playground, a standalone application that allows users to create AI-generated images based on descriptive prompts. Alternatively, the feature can be accessed via the emoji palette on the keyboard. Users can input text-based prompts, prompting the AI to generate a corresponding emoji. Furthermore, they can use images from their photo library to craft personalized emojis that resemble their loved ones.
Additionally, the customized Genmojis can be enhanced with accessories like hats and sunglasses or themed backgrounds. Apple notes that stickers created with Genmoji can be utilized in various applications, including Messages, Notes, and Keynote. Users can easily integrate these stickers into their messages or share them as reactions through Tapback.
Beyond the macOS Sequoia 15.3 update, Apple has also released developer beta updates for iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, watchOS 11.3, tvOS 18.3, and visionOS 2.3.
