Apple has reintroduced Apple Intelligence-powered notification summaries for news and entertainment apps in its fourth developer beta of iOS 26, according to a report from MacRumors. The feature was disabled earlier this year due to inaccuracies in the summaries, particularly concerning headlines. The company has assured users that the functionality would return in a future update.

Once users install the latest beta, their iPhone displays a splash screen during setup, allowing them to enable notification summaries. Users can opt for a summary specifically for the News & Entertainment category. However, Apple issues a cautionary note in red text on the screen, stating, “Summarization may change the meaning of the original headlines. Verify information.” The splash screen highlights that notification summaries are still in beta and may contain errors.

In addition to the notification summaries, the recent beta release, which came out on Tuesday, features enhancements to the Liquid Glass design elements, making them appear even more fluid, as noted by 9to5Mac. Apple has been experimenting with the translucency of these elements throughout its beta updates, and early users of the first beta have noticed significant changes to their devices.

Furthermore, Apple plans to roll out a public beta version of iOS 26 later this month. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously indicated that this release could occur “around the 23rd” of July.
