On Wednesday, Apple unveiled its ‘Shop with a Specialist over Video’ service in India, allowing customers to engage with skilled Apple Specialists via video calls. This innovative service aims to deliver personalized recommendations, facilitate comparisons between product models, and provide insights into available purchase options for Apple devices. The feature is accessible through the Apple Store app on both iOS and Android platforms, although it is currently available in one language for users in India.
Apple Launches Video Specialist Service in India
According to a recent post on Apple’s newsroom, the Specialist over Video service connects clients with an Apple Store employee through a secure one-way video call. While the Specialist appears on video, customers communicate using audio only.
“Whether someone resides in a major city or a smaller town, we’re dedicated to enhancing their access to the exceptional products, services, and support that Apple is renowned for,” stated Karen Rasmussen, Head of Retail Online at Apple.
This service is available to Indian customers from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. IST, Monday through Friday, via the Apple Store online in English. Notably, access to the Specialist over Video service does not require an iOS device, as clarified by the company.
During the video consultations, customers are offered personalized advice tailored to their needs. The sessions enable shoppers to compare various product models and receive details about available purchasing options directly from the Apple Specialist.
This initiative is part of Apple’s broader strategy to provide personalized recommendations and buying guidance, building upon services previously offered on its website and in physical stores. Moreover, globally, Apple also facilitates opportunities for customers to learn new skills through initiatives like Today at Apple.
The launch of the Specialist over Video service follows the introduction of the Apple Store app in India back in January. The app enables users to shop for products and services directly from Apple, offering personalized suggestions, the ability to save and organize favorite items, information about retail programs, insights into the latest device features, and convenient delivery and pickup options.
