Amazon has streamlined the process for sellers to generate ads featuring artificial intelligence on its platform, enabling creations that can be completed in just a few clicks. The company’s Video Generator, which was launched in beta last year, has added new capabilities and is now generally accessible to sellers in the U.S.. This tool allows users to produce “photorealistic video assets” in under five minutes.
The latest features include enhancements that showcase products in action, which is particularly effective for items such as toys, tools, and accessories. For instance, the Video Generator can create clips that depict a person wearing a watch and checking the time, rather than just placing the watch on a flat surface. Users have the option to generate six different video selections and can customize the final output by adding their logos.
Additionally, the Video Generator can produce ads that feature multiple interconnected scenes, including humans, animals, text overlays, and background music. Based on the editing timeline shown in Amazon’s promotional material, these videos can be as long as 21 seconds. The produced ads resemble traditional commercials seen on television and online, distinguishing them from simple clips created by other AI video tools like OpenAI’s Sora or Adobe Firefly.
A new feature that summarizes existing videos allows for the creation of concise ads from previously recorded content, such as tutorials, demonstrations, and social media videos. The Video Generator can automatically select and extract important clips to form new videos tailored for advertising campaigns. Additionally, a one-click image-to-video function is offered, producing shorter GIF-style clips that display products in action.
With the tool now widely available in the United States at no cost, it’s likely that Amazon sellers will begin to incorporate these AI-generated video ads into their marketing strategies, potentially changing the landscape of online advertising.
