Acer introduced its inaugural handheld gaming PC, the Nitro Blaze 7, at the 2024 Global Press Conference (GPC) on Wednesday, taking place prior to the IFA event in Berlin. This new device features high-end specifications, including an AMD Ryzen 7 processor, a substantial 2TB SSD, and a 144Hz IPS display. Running on Windows 11, the Nitro Blaze 7 integrates gaming functionalities enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize performance and responsiveness in games and applications.
The device is poised to contend in the competitive space of handheld gaming PCs, taking on notable competitors such as the Lenovo Legion Go, Steam Deck, and Asus ROG Ally X.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 7 showcases a 7-inch full-HD IPS display that delivers a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels along with a 144Hz refresh rate and a rapid 7ms response time. The screen offers complete 100 percent sRGB coverage and incorporates AMD FreeSync Premium technology to minimize screen tearing and yield a smoother visual experience.
Under the hood, the gaming PC is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor paired with an AMD Radeon 780M GPU. This octa-core processor reaches a maximum boost clock of 5.1 GHz and is capable of performing up to 39 total AI trillion operations per second (TOPS). Furthermore, the device leverages Ryzen AI technology for on-device AI functionalities, while the GPU utilizes Radeon Super Resolution for real-time graphical upscaling.
For storage, the Nitro Blaze 7 comes with a 2TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD and is backed by 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The overall dimensions of the PC are 25.6×11.35×2.25 cm, with a weight of 670 grams. Connectivity options include USB Type-C 4.0 ports, a microSD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
