Lyft has introduced a new feature called “Earnings Assistant,” an AI-powered tool aimed at helping drivers manage and enhance their time on the road. According to Jeremy Bird, the company’s Executive Vice President of Driver Experience, this innovation enables drivers to generate plans based on various factors such as flight arrivals at the airport and local events.
Currently, the Earnings Assistant is in an early access phase, requiring drivers to sign up for a waitlist before they can use it. Once granted access, drivers can utilize the tool for planning and receive reminders about their schedules. Additionally, it offers suggestions for their next destination if they are unsure.
In a demonstration from Lyft, a driver requested a schedule that stays within a five-hour timeframe in San Francisco and concludes at an Oakland address. The tool then generated a time-blocked visual itinerary, including notifications about when the driver could expect to enter a “Turbo” period, indicating higher earnings potential.
Lyft highlights that this launch follows other recent updates, including enhancements to Lyft Rewards and a new AI-driven feature called the “Driver Accomplishment Letter.” This tool creates a tailored document for drivers, summarizing their performance and featuring commendations from passengers.
