The Samsung Galaxy S25 FE is reportedly under development, serving as a successor to the Galaxy S24 FE launched last year. While the South Korean tech giant has yet to officially announce the device, it is anticipated to be unveiled by the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter in 2025. Speculation suggests that the upcoming ‘Fan Edition’ model may feature an Exynos chipset similar to that of its predecessor.

Samsung Galaxy S25 FE Expected to Incorporate Exynos 2400e Processor

According to a report from Android Authority, the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE, known by its codename R13, is currently in development. For context, the Galaxy S24 FE was codenamed R12 and the Galaxy S23 FE was designated R11. Internal documentation reviewed by the publication indicates that the new device will likely use the same processor as the Galaxy S24 FE.

The Galaxy S25 FE is expected to utilize the S5e9945 processor, which corresponds to the Samsung Exynos 2400/2400e chipset. If verified, this means that the upcoming model will be powered by the same Exynos processor found in last year’s edition.

Last year’s Galaxy S24 FE was equipped with the Exynos 2400e chipset. Reports suggest that Samsung may forego an upgrade to the chipset this year, opting instead to retain the same processor for the new model. Additionally, there are rumors that the Exynos 2400e will also be featured in the Galaxy Z Flip FE.

This choice indicates that the Galaxy S25 FE will likely possess a chip that is significantly less powerful than competitors such as the Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400, and it may even lag behind the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in terms of performance. The device is set to launch later this year, positioned as a budget-friendly alternative to the standard Samsung Galaxy S25.

In related news, it has been reported that the Indian version of the Galaxy M36 5G will come equipped with the Exynos 1380 processor, which currently powers the existing Galaxy M35 5G.

For reference, the Galaxy S24 FE debuted in September 2024, with a price point of Rs. 59,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The device features a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is backed by 8GB of RAM and offers storage options of up to 512GB. The smartphone also includes a triple rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera, along with support for Galaxy AI features and a robust 4,700mAh battery supporting 25W wired charging.
