Dragon Age: The Veilguard is poised to launch on October 31 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X. Developed by BioWare, this action-RPG marks the fourth installment in the Dragon Age series and the first release since 2014’s Dragon Age: Inquisition. In anticipation of the release, publisher Electronic Arts has announced the game’s PC system requirements along with pre-load timings, while also providing information on performance for console versions.
In a recent blog post, BioWare outlined the diverse PC specifications needed to run Dragon Age: The Veilguard. The developers emphasized a commitment to accessibility for a wide range of PC configurations. It’s important to note, however, that users will need a minimum of 16GB of RAM and 100GB of storage (with SSD recommended) to play the game effectively. The requirements are categorized into two sections: with Ray Tracing enabled and disabled.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Console Performance
For console players, Dragon Age: The Veilguard will feature both performance and fidelity modes on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, aiming for 60 fps and 30 fps, respectively. BioWare has also confirmed enhancements specific to the recently unveiled PlayStation 5 Pro. As noted by BioWare’s Studio Technical Director Maciej Kurowski, the game will provide improved resolution options in both modes on the console.
Additionally, the PlayStation 5 Pro will utilize its PSSR upscaling technique for enhanced image quality. In the 60 fps performance mode on this console, the game will enable Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO), a feature that will only be accessible in the 30 fps fidelity mode on the standard PS5.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard Pre-Load Times
The game will become available for pre-load on October 14, starting at 9 am PDT (9:30 pm IST) for Xbox Series S/X players. Pre-loading for PS5 is slated to begin on October 29, also at 9 am PDT (9:30 pm IST).
Furthermore, BioWare clarified that Dragon Age: The Veilguard will not incorporate any third-party DRM such as Denuvo across any platform. This decision means pre-loading will not be offered on PC; users can download and access the game directly when it launches on October 31 at 9 am PDT (9:30 pm IST).
