In an exciting development for fans of the franchise, 20th Century Studios has unveiled the first teaser for a new live-action film titled Predator: Badlands. In a notable shift from traditional portrayals, this feature film positions the iconic alien creature as the central character.
The narrative centers around a young predator named Dek, portrayed by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who faces exile from his species and society. Dek teams up with an android from Weyland-Yutani, Thia, played by Elle Fanning, in a quest to confront an overwhelming foe described as a creature that “can’t be killed.” Early glimpses in the trailer suggest that this formidable adversary is a massive monster never seen before in the series.
Reports indicate that a significant portion of Predator: Badlands may occur on the home planet of the Predators. The film aims to enrich the existing lore surrounding Predator culture, language, and traditions, presenting itself as a standalone addition to the broader Predator/Alien universe.

The teaser showcases intense scenes featuring various predators clashing, as well as Fanning’s striking portrayal of an android, alongside brief glimpses of new monsters and the alien environment the story explores.
Directing and co-writing Predator: Badlands is Dan Trachtenberg, who previously received acclaim for his standalone film Prey, which reimagined the predator in an antagonistic role set against a historical backdrop, focusing on a young Native American woman confronting the creature.
In addition to his work on Badlands, Trachtenberg is developing an animated anthology series titled Predator: Killer of Killers, set to premiere on Hulu on June 6, the same platform that released Prey.
Predator: Badlands is scheduled to hit theaters on November 7. This teaser marks the beginning of the promotional campaign, and further insights are expected to emerge as additional trailers are released in the coming months.
