The launch date for the Oppo A5 Pro 5G in India has been officially announced. Along with this confirmation, the company has provided details regarding the battery capacity and charging features of the upcoming smartphone. Notably, the device will include an IP69-rated design, offering protection against dust and water. The Oppo A5 Pro 5G first debuted in China at the end of the previous year, featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor and a robust 6,000mAh battery.
On Friday, Oppo issued a press release confirming that the release event for the Oppo A5 Pro 5G in India is set for April 24. The smartphone will showcase an IP69 rating and an innovative 360-degree protective armor designed to withstand drops. Additionally, it will feature a 200 percent Network Boost capability aimed at ensuring stable connectivity in challenging conditions.
The Indian variant of the Oppo A5 Pro 5G will come equipped with a 5,800mAh battery; this is notably smaller than the Chinese model, which has a 6,000mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging. In India, the new model will support 45W charging instead.
Oppo A5 Pro 5G Specifications
The Chinese version of the Oppo A5 Pro 5G operates on Android 15 with ColorOS 15, sporting a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display that offers a resolution of 1,080 x 2,412 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC, available with up to 12GB of RAM and a maximum of 512GB of internal storage. The camera setup includes a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 2-megapixel monochrome sensor, complemented by a 16-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
In other regions, like the UK, the Oppo A5 Pro 5G variant features the same 5,800mAh battery but is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor.
The device was initially introduced in China in December of last year, with a starting price of CNY 1,999, which is approximately ₹23,300 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.
