Ubisoft has announced that Star Wars Outlaws will receive a significant update on November 21. The forthcoming Title Update 1.4 will enhance various aspects of the action-adventure game, including combat, stealth, and character movement controls. This patch coincides with the game’s debut on Steam and the launch of its inaugural story expansion, titled Wild Card. Since its release on August 30, Star Wars Outlaws has undergone three previous updates to rectify gameplay and technical challenges.
Title Update 1.4 Details
In a recent Dev Update, Ubisoft elaborated on their strategy for post-launch support of Star Wars Outlaws. Drew Rechner, the game’s new creative director, emphasized that the studio has been responsive to player feedback to identify updates that are most needed. He outlined three primary focus areas for the upcoming Title Update 1.4.
“The first focus area is combat. We see an opportunity to enhance the experience by adding more depth and excitement, making tactics and precision more rewarding,” Rechner mentioned.
“The second area is stealth. We aim to improve the clarity and reliability of enemy detection while also giving players options on how to handle different encounters,” he added.
“Lastly, we will enhance character controls by increasing the reliability of cover mechanics, refining the responsiveness of climbing and crouching actions, and generally enhancing control consistency,” Rechner noted.
These enhancements are designed to offer players more choices during missions, whether they opt for stealth tactics or engage directly with adversaries using their blasters. Ubisoft plans to provide further specifics about these gameplay improvements in the weeks leading up to the update.
Title Update 1.4 is set to launch across all supported platforms on November 21, aligning with the Steam release of Star Wars Outlaws and the debut of its first expansion, Wild Card.
Star Wars Outlaws Overview
Since its launch on August 30 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, Star Wars Outlaws has explored the dynamics of competing crime syndicates within an expansive Star Wars universe. However, the game faced technical difficulties and bugs at its release.
A month post-launch, Ubisoft disclosed that the game’s initial sales were “softer than expected,” prompting a delay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows to February 2025, indicating that lessons learned from Outlaws’ launch would inform future titles.
“In light of player feedback, our development teams are fully committed to implementing updates that enhance the player experience and ensure strong engagement during the holiday season, establishing Star Wars Outlaws as a lasting title,” the company stated while announcing the upcoming Steam launch.
Since its debut, Ubisoft has released three updates for Star Wars Outlaws, which have addressed various bugs, rectified stealth mechanics in critical missions, and improved aspects of the speeder camera and collision detection, among other player concerns.
