The Oppo K12s 5G is set to make its debut in China next week. Key specifications regarding the phone’s design, RAM, and storage options have already been disclosed. The company has also confirmed details about the device’s battery and charging capabilities. This latest model will join the existing Oppo K12 and K12 Plus, which were launched in China in April and October of 2024, respectively. Additionally, Oppo is preparing for the release of the Oppo K13 5G in India, scheduled for April 21.
Launch Details, Design, and Specifications of Oppo K12s 5G
The Oppo K12s 5G will officially launch on April 22 at 2:30 PM local time (12 PM IST), according to a recent announcement made by the company via Weibo. This smartphone will feature a substantial 7,000mAh battery and will support 80W wired fast charging.
In a separate Weibo post, Oppo disclosed the color options for the K12s 5G, which will include Prism Black, Rose Purple, and Star White (translated from Chinese). The device will be available in multiple RAM and storage configurations: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 512GB, as per the official e-store listing.
The Oppo K12s 5G features a square rear camera module with rounded edges, housing two camera sensors in a vertical pill-shaped arrangement. On the right side of the device, users will find the volume rocker and power button. The phone showcases a flat display with slim side bezels, a slightly thicker chin, and a centered hole-punch at the top for the front camera.
There are indications that the Oppo K12s 5G may be a rebranded variant of the upcoming Oppo K13 5G, which is scheduled for release in India one day before the K12s’ launch in China. The K13 5G is expected to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 SoC, an IP65-rated build, and a 6.66-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The Oppo K12s 5G has surfaced in Chinese certification listings, including the 3C and TENAA. Speculations suggest that the smartphone will incorporate a 50-megapixel dual rear camera setup and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, alongside an in-display fingerprint sensor. Reports additionally indicate that the device may ship with Android 15, complemented by ColorOS on top. Other anticipated features include a 5,700mm² vapor chamber cooling system, NFC support, an IR blaster, and dual speakers.
