Ubisoft has officially revealed the release date for its upcoming Star Wars Outlaws expansion, titled A Pirate’s Fortune, following a leak of the first-look trailer on Thursday. The new content will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X starting May 15. This expansion marks the second story addition to the main game, following the debut of the Wild Card DLC in November 2024. In addition to the expansion announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will also be launched on the Nintendo Switch 2.
Overview of Star Wars Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune
The leaked trailer for A Pirate’s Fortune features protagonist Kay Vess as she embarks on a treasure hunt alongside her companion Nyx within the Khepi system. In this adventure, Vess partners with the legendary pirate Hondo Ohnaka to delve into the mysteries surrounding the Khepi Tomb. Players will encounter the Miyuki Trade League and receive new rewards for completing smuggling missions.
The formal announcement of the DLC followed the premature release of the trailer, which was intended to debut officially at the Star Wars Celebration event on Friday.
Players who have completed the main storyline in the base game will have access to A Pirate’s Fortune. The expansion will be free for those who purchased the season pass, while other players will have the option to buy it separately.
This expansion also includes in-game rewards and cosmetic items. Players with the Ultimate and Deluxe Editions of the base game will receive the Naboo Nobility and Desert Nomad cosmetic packs. An update accompanying the expansion will gift all players with cosmetic items inspired by the Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.
Moreover, Ubisoft announced a free, three-hour demo for Star Wars Outlaws, which is now available on all supported platforms, allowing players to experience a portion of the game.
In a related update, Ubisoft confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. This announcement came during the Nintendo Direct presentation for the new console on April 2. The action-adventure game, which allows players to step into the role of smuggler Kay Vess in the Outer Rim, was initially released on August 30, 2024.
