Users began sharing screenshots showcasing these enhancements, which enabled the inclusion of personal nicknames, professions, and various personality traits. However, reports indicate that these new features were subsequently removed from the platform, leading to speculation that OpenAI may have deployed them prematurely.

Numerous users on X (formerly Twitter) discussed the new tools available in ChatGPT, highlighting the evolution of the Custom Instructions feature. Screenshots posted by users revealed additional customization fields that offered more precise control over the chatbot’s response generation.
Custom instructions serve as a means to streamline user interaction with the AI, avoiding the need to repeatedly input the same prompts. For example, users who prefer formal and concise responses can input such preferences into the custom instructions, ensuring that ChatGPT tailors its replies according to their specified tone and style.

Previously, users could enter their preferences in a singular text prompt. However, according to the screenshots shared, the updated version allowed for more nuanced input, enabling users to specify a nickname and remind the chatbot of their profession. In addition, personality traits such as “witty,” “opinionated,” and “Gen Z” could also be assigned to ChatGPT to influence its responses.
At the time of reporting, it was unclear how these personality traits impacted the chatbot’s behavior, as verification of the feature by Gadgets 360 staff was not successful, and it was absent in ChatGPT during the publication of this article.
Users on X reported that the feature seemed to vanish shortly after its introduction. As noted in a report by TechCrunch, the feature may have been inadvertently released before proper readiness. There remains uncertainty regarding when it might be officially reintroduced.
