The Realme GT 7 Pro made its debut in India last November, featuring a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a substantial 5,800mAh battery. This model was notable for being the first to introduce the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC in the country. Recent reports, however, suggest that the Realme GT 8 Pro is on the horizon, promising multiple hardware enhancements over its predecessor.
According to industry insider Digital Chat Station, who shared insights on Weibo (via), the upcoming GT 8 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. The device is rumored to sport a flat display with a 2K resolution, as well as a premium metal frame and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, similar to the existing GT 7 Pro.
The anticipated camera system on the GT 8 Pro could include a remarkable 200-megapixel periscope telephoto sensor. This upgrade would significantly enhance the photography capabilities compared to the GT 7 Pro, which is equipped with three rear cameras, including two 50-megapixel sensors and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens.
Additionally, the tipster suggests that the battery capacity for the Realme GT 8 Pro could exceed 7,000mAh and support 100W fast charging. In contrast, the Chinese variant of the GT 7 Pro features a 6,500mAh battery, while the version sold in India has a 5,800mAh capacity.
