Huawei Pura X: Game-Changing Foldable Phone Launch!

Huawei has introduced the Pura X, its latest foldable smartphone, in China. This device features an innovative design and operates as a clamshell foldable phone equipped with a 6.3-inch inner display that boasts a 16:10 aspect ratio, claimed to be the widest among its genre. Additionally, it comes with a 3.5-inch outer display and is supported by a triple camera system. The phone is powered by HarmonyOS 5.0.1 and offers configurations with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. A robust 4,720mAh battery ensures the device supports 66W fast charging and 40W wireless charging.

Pricing Details for Huawei Pura X

The Huawei Pura X is listed at CNY 7,499 (approximately Rs. 89,000) for the model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. For the variant with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, the price increases to CNY 7,999 (about Rs. 95,000). Customers can choose from several color options including Moon Shadow Gray, Magic Night Black, Stylish Red, Stylish Green, and Zero White. Pre-booking for the device has commenced in China, with deliveries scheduled to start on March 21.

In addition, Huawei is presenting a Collector’s Edition of the Pura X, which incorporates a unique tri-color back cover and includes satellite communication capabilities. This special edition is priced at CNY 8,999 (approximately Rs. 1,08,000) for the variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and CNY 9,999 (approximately Rs. 1,19,000) for the 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model.

Specifications of the Huawei Pura X

The Huawei Pura X operates on HarmonyOS 5.0.1 and features an internal OLED LTPO 2.0 display measuring 6.3 inches, with a resolution of 1,320 x 2,120 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The 16:10 aspect ratio significantly enhances viewing experiences compared to the more conventional 21:9 ratio found in typical flip phones. The external display is 3.5 inches, offering a resolution of 980 x 980 pixels, also supporting a refresh rate of up to 120Hz through its adaptive technology. Both displays provide high-frequency PWM dimming at 1440Hz and a touch sampling rate of up to 300 Hz. The exact chipset has not been specified yet, but it is rumored to be a variant of the Kirin 9010.

For photography enthusiasts, the Pura X includes a triple rear camera configuration, showcasing a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide-angle macro camera, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with OIS capabilities. Additionally, there is a 10.7-megapixel front-facing camera situated on the inner display. The device is also designed with an IPX8 rating, providing water and dust resistance.

The Huawei Pura X supports a range of connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS/AGPS, NFC, GLONASS, Beidou, NavIC, and features a USB Type-C port for charging. An assortment of sensors is incorporated, including an ambient light sensor, color temperature sensor, gesture sensor, gravity sensor, IR sensor, hall sensor, gyroscope, and proximity sensor. For security, the device offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for user authentication. The Collector’s Edition also introduces a satellite communication feature (Tiantong).

Furthermore, the Pura X is equipped with a sizable 4,720mAh battery, ensuring robust performance with both 66W wired and 40W wireless charging capabilities.
