Sony is reportedly preparing to introduce a new color option for a range of PlayStation 5 accessories. The DualSense Edge wireless controller, Pulse Elite wireless headset, and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds could soon be available in black. Currently, these PS5 peripherals are offered primarily in white, though the DualSense Edge does have a gray variant released in celebration of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary.
New Color Option for PS5 Accessories Expected
This information comes from well-known industry dataminer billbil-kun, who indicated in a Dealabs report on Monday that Sony is set to unveil these accessories in black. Although specific details regarding the announcement and availability have not yet been disclosed, the dataminer suggested that these peripherals might be revealed within the next month.
The new black variants of the DualSense Edge controller and the Pulse headphones are expected to be priced similarly to their white counterparts. For example, the DualSense Edge controller retails for Rs. 18,990 in India, while the Pulse Elite headset and the Pulse Explore earbuds are priced at Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 18,990, respectively.
The report further hinted that Sony may be planning an event in December, with potential teasers already issued. In the latest “Play Has No Limits” advertisement video, a date that might reference December 3, 2024, — significant for marking the 30th anniversary of PlayStation — could imply forthcoming announcements from the company.
Earlier in the month, Sony launched new color options for some PS5 peripherals along with a Fortnite Limited Edition controller. The Chroma Collection, which includes the DualSense controller and PS5 console covers, is being offered in two fresh finishes: Chroma Indigo and Chroma Pearl.
Additionally, Sony recently kicked off its PlayStation Black Friday promotions in India, featuring discounts on the PS5 console, PS VR2, DualSense controller, and a selection of 20 PlayStation games. These offers will be available until December 5, providing a discount of Rs. 7,500 on both disc and digital editions of the PS5 slim variant.
