The Honor GT was unveiled in China last December, and the company is now preparing to launch the Honor GT Pro, a new addition aimed at the premium gaming smartphone market. While a specific release date has not yet been disclosed, an executive from Honor has provided some insights into the design and technical specifications of the upcoming device. The Honor GT Pro is set to be positioned as a higher-tier model compared to the standard version, featuring a 144Hz refresh rate display and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor.
Charlie Du, the product manager for the Honor GT series, shared official renders and specifications of the Honor GT Pro via a post on Weibo. He emphasized that the new Pro variant is intended to be a ‘powerful flagship,’ suggesting it will be marketed approximately two levels above the existing Honor GT, indicating a likely increase in price.
The visuals shared by Du depict the Honor GT Pro sporting a flat display with a centrally located hole-punch camera cutout. It will also incorporate a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor to enhance its security features.
The upcoming Honor GT Pro is touted to offer a 144Hz refresh rate display, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage capabilities. Similar to its predecessor, it will feature an Oasis polarized eye protection gaming screen, alongside a construction of rhino glass and a metal middle frame. The device is also set to include a dual speaker system akin to the Honor Magic 7 series and will support dual-band GPS as well as triple-band Beidou navigation.
Powering the Honor GT Pro is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which aligns with its designation as a top-tier gaming smartphone.
Honor GT Pricing and Specifications
The standard Honor GT was launched in December 2024 in China, with a starting price of CNY 2,199 (approximately ₹25,000) for the model featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The Honor GT operates on MagicOS 9.0, which is based on Android 15, and showcases a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,200×2,664 pixels. It boasts a PWM value of 3,840Hz and reaches peak brightness levels of 1,200 nits. The smartphone is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, offering configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Its camera setup includes a dual rear arrangement with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
For biometric authentication, the Honor GT features an in-display fingerprint sensor and possesses an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance. The device is powered by a robust 5,300mAh battery, which supports 100W fast charging.
