Cyberpunk 2077 has received its Update 2.2, which is now available for players on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. This latest patch introduces a variety of new customization options for characters and vehicles, enhances the photo mode, and features increased appearances from Johnny Silverhand. Developer CD Projekt Red initiated the rollout of this update on Tuesday, marking over a year since the release of Update 2.1 and coinciding with the four-year anniversary of the game’s launch. In a livestream, CD Projekt emphasized that the primary goal of Update 2.2 is to enhance player expression within the vibrant world of Cyberpunk 2077.

New Features in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.2

One of the standout additions in the update is the expanded customization for the player character, V. The patch introduces more than 100 new options available in the character creation menu at the start of the game or later when modifying V’s appearance. These options encompass a range of new eye colors, various makeup styles, tattoos, and cosmetic cyberware.

Vehicle customization has also received a significant upgrade. The in-game CrystalCoat technology, which enables players to modify paint jobs on Rayfield vehicles, is now compatible with other select brands within the game. Players can also scan vehicles to save their color schemes for a fee, allowing for easy access in future customizations. Furthermore, the ten most requested vehicles from Night City are now available for purchase through Autofixer, according to the patch notes associated with Update 2.2.

Interactions with Johnny Silverhand, a key non-player character portrayed by Keanu Reeves, have also been enhanced. Silverhand will occasionally join V in the passenger seat of the car, providing commentary on the driving experience and reacting to various in-game events.

The update brings extensive changes to the photo mode, including new camera controls, aspect ratio adjustments for PC users, and the addition of NPCs. Players can also showcase their framed photos in V’s apartment. Moreover, CD Projekt announced that Night City now has even more secrets waiting to be uncovered.

Alongside these new features, Update 2.2 addresses a range of bug fixes and improvements, with some specifically targeting issues related to the Phantom Liberty expansion.

This latest update follows the previous Update 2.1, which had introduced a fully operational metro system, a radioport to listen to in-game radio stations while on the move, hangout activities with romantic partners, and new vehicles and activities.
