On Wednesday, Meta revealed that it is broadening the availability of its proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, Meta AI, to six additional countries, including the United Kingdom. This expansion is part of a larger initiative that will soon extend the service to a total of 15 more nations, thereby increasing the total number of countries supported by the platform to 43. In addition to integrating Meta AI within its social media applications, the company has also introduced voice-activated AI features for the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in both the UK and Australia.

In an update to a July announcement highlighting earlier expansions, Meta disclosed that the AI chatbot is now accessible in Brazil, Bolivia, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Philippines, and the UK. The rollout also includes the addition of support for Tagalog, a language spoken in the Philippines. Users in these newly added regions can access the AI assistant by updating their Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp applications, where they will find the new Meta AI icon.

Furthermore, Meta plans to extend the chatbot’s services to 15 more countries shortly, which include Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Thailand, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, and Yemen. This expansion is expected to take place before the end of the year, along with updates that will introduce support for Arabic, Indonesian, Thai, and Vietnamese languages.

Alongside the chatbot expansion, the UK and Australia will receive certain capabilities of Meta AI on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. However, these features will be limited to voice interactions only, as the recently introduced computer vision-based functionalities will not be available to users in these markets.
