WhatsApp is in the process of developing a new functionality that will enable users to create custom sticker packs, enhancing the organization of stickers within the messaging platform. Details emerged from a feature tracker indicating that, at present, users can only add custom stickers to a disorganized section known as Favourites. The upcoming custom sticker packs are expected to be readily shareable, allowing users to send their stickers to others, who will be able to view and import these packs.
New Custom Sticker Pack Feature Under Development by WhatsApp
WABetaInfo, a feature tracker, uncovered this development within the latest WhatsApp beta for Android update, version 2.24.22.13, which is being rolled out through the Google Play beta program. As the feature is still under construction, beta testers will not yet have the opportunity to explore it, even after downloading the most recent version. Nonetheless, the tracker retrieved several insights on how this feature is expected to function.
A screenshot detailing the new feature reveals an option labeled Add to sticker pack, which surfaces on a pop-up card when a user selects a sticker. This new option is positioned between Add to Favourites and Edit sticker.
Selecting this option will prompt a Create sticker pack dialog, presenting a text box for users to name their new sticker pack. Upon hitting the Save button, the custom sticker pack will then be accessible under the sticker selection menu within WhatsApp.
The feature tracker noted that users will also have the capability to tap a three-dot button alongside the custom sticker pack. This will allow them to either Send the pack to another user or Remove it if they choose to delete it.
Currently, this anticipated feature could greatly assist users in arranging their custom stickers more effectively in WhatsApp, eliminating the need to keep all stickers in the Favourites section. The feature remains in development and is expected to be available to beta testers in a future update.
