On Tuesday, LinkedIn unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) feature known as Hiring Assistant. This tool marks the first AI agent introduced by the platform, designed to streamline various tasks within the hiring process for recruiters and hiring professionals. Currently, the feature is being launched for a limited group of enterprise clients, with plans for a broader rollout to encompass all hiring professionals soon.
LinkedIn Unveils Hiring Assistant
In an announcement published in its newsroom, LinkedIn described the Hiring Assistant as a significant advancement for its platform. Unlike existing AI functionalities that require user intervention and only assist with certain activities, this new AI agent can autonomously manage several aspects of the recruitment workflow from start to finish. The company noted that it can alleviate many of the manual tasks that occupy a considerable portion of professionals’ daily workloads.
The Hiring Assistant aims to simplify the recruitment process by aiding recruiters in sourcing suitable candidates. The tool can help build a pipeline of qualified applicants, identify the best candidates, draft outreach emails, and maintain engagement with applicants by addressing their questions about the positions available.
Beyond standard task management, the new AI tool provides proactive assistance as well. According to LinkedIn, the Hiring Assistant is equipped to offer timely updates and recommendations backed by data insights, facilitating smoother next steps in the hiring workflow.
The introduction of this tool is intended to allow recruiters to concentrate on more strategic responsibilities, such as advising hiring managers, connecting with candidates, and optimizing the candidate experience. Currently, companies like AMD, Canva, Siemens, and Zurich Insurance have access to the Hiring Assistant, with future expansions planned for additional clients.
This feature is available exclusively to paid enterprise users who utilize LinkedIn Recruiter, the company’s suite of tools tailored for hiring managers and recruitment professionals.
