The popular video game forum NeoGAF is currently offline, following serious allegations of sexual assault against its owner, Tyler “Evilore” Malka. In light of these allegations, NeoGAF’s moderators have collectively resigned, and many users have abandoned the platform.

The controversy surrounding Malka intensified this week after a screenshot surfaced, showing a Facebook post in which a woman described traumatic experiences with a male acquaintance. When asked to identify the individual, she replied, “Google Evilore.”

Discussions related to these allegations have faced swift censorship on NeoGAF, with moderators removing posts almost instantly. Reports indicate that Malka is currently drafting a statement in response to the situation.

This incident is not the first of its kind for Malka; allegations of sexual misconduct had previously emerged in 2012.

Founded in 2004 as an offshoot of the Gaming-Age forums, NeoGAF has grown to become a central hub for gaming enthusiasts, industry professionals, developers, and journalists. Over the years, it has served as a primary source for industry news and leaks, often breaking stories before they appeared on other platforms.

With the recent departures of key personnel, the future of NeoGAF now hangs in the balance. A long-time member expressed doubts about the site’s viability, stating, “I don’t know how the site will continue considering everyone who worked on it has left. This coming amidst the Harvey Weinstein debacle has indeed had an impact.” Many users are now migrating to alternative platforms like subreddits and Discord groups, with some expressing a desire to wait and see which communities are worth joining.
