Analysts suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 series may see a price increase compared to last year’s models. This new lineup from the tech giant is set to include the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max, with reports indicating these devices could come with elevated price points. Apple is navigating several challenges this year, particularly the impact of international trade tariffs, prompting a shift in production efforts outside of China.

Pricing Influenced by Trade Tariffs

In a recent research note by Jeff Pu, an analyst at GF Securities, as referenced by MacRumors, it was stated that the iPhone 17 series is “likely” to be priced higher than its predecessors from 2024. Pu highlights that the company is grappling with the effects of trade tariffs, particularly those enacted by the previous U.S. administration.

This isn’t the first indication of a potential price hike for the iPhone 17 lineup. Another analyst forecast last month suggested that the prices of the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro could increase by around $50 (approximately ₹4,400), with the iPhone 17 Pro Max possibly seeing a $100 (about ₹8,800) spike in cost.

The iPhone 16 was launched at $799 (approximately ₹70,100) in the U.S. and ₹79,900 in India, while the iPhone 16 Pro debuted at $999 (around ₹87,700) in the U.S. and ₹1,19,900 in India.

Previous leaks indicate that the iPhone 17 Air may feature a sleek build, measuring merely 5.5mm thick, making it slimmer than the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8mm. The device could offer a 6.6-inch display with ProMotion technology, enabling refresh rates of up to 120Hz.

Speculated specifications for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air include the powerful A19 Pro SoC, while the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are anticipated to be equipped with the A19 Pro chip. The new slim model is expected to have a single 48-megapixel Fusion rear camera, delivering similar photographic capabilities as the primary rear sensor of the iPhone 16. Additionally, it might feature a 24-megapixel front-facing camera, according to various reports.
