On Wednesday, Google unveiled the latest Pixel drop for July 2025, introducing a range of new features for Pixel devices. A significant highlight of this update is the complimentary one-year subscription to the Google AI Pro plan exclusively for Pixel 9 Pro users. This subscription grants access to the company’s advanced Veo 3 video generation model. Additionally, the update includes the new AI Mode in Circle-to-Search and Gemini capabilities for Wear OS-based Pixel Watch users.
Google Pixel Drop: Features
Google outlined the enhancements coming to Pixel devices in a blog post. It noted that Pixel 9 Pro owners will benefit from a year-long free subscription to the Google AI Pro plan, which is typically priced at Rs. 1,950 per month in India. This plan provides access to sophisticated Gemini models, including the 2.5 Pro and Deep Research on the 2.5 Pro. Users will also have limited access to video generation using the Veo 3 model.
In addition, the subscription allows Pixel 9 Pro users to utilize Google’s AI filmmaking tool, Flow, which is specifically designed with Veo 3 capabilities. There are enhanced limits for image-to-video creation through Whisk, powered by Veo 2, with Google offering 1,000 monthly AI credits across both applications.
The Google AI Pro plan further includes increased limits on Audio Overviews, access to Gemini in popular Google applications like Chrome, Docs, and Gmail, as well as 2TB of cloud storage that can be used across Drive, Gmail, and Photos.
The Pixel Drop also introduces AI Mode in Circle-to-Search for users in India and the US, enabling them to enter text-based queries and receive comprehensive responses complete with inline citations. Additionally, the company is enhancing its visual lookup tool with in-game assistance, allowing users to locate articles and videos related to specific challenges they encounter in games without the need to switch between applications.
Finally, users of the Pixel Watch will gain on-the-go access to Gemini, featuring support for natural language. This allows the AI assistant to handle tasks such as sending text messages, offering directions, planning trips, setting reminders, summarizing emails, and retaining important details. These functionalities are available on Wear OS-powered smartwatches operating on Wear OS 4 or newer firmware.
