The highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4, originally launched in 2005, has been made available for the iPhone 15 Pro along with certain iPad and Mac models. This exciting release took place on Wednesday, allowing compatible Apple users to dive into the acclaimed survival horror experience. While the game can be found for free on the Apple App Store, users need to make in-app purchases to access the complete title. The remake was initially released for PC and consoles on March 24, garnering widespread praise for its enhanced graphics and gameplay features. It has also received three nominations at this year’s The Game Awards, including the prestigious Game of the Year award.
Capcom showcased the Resident Evil 4 remake for Apple’s devices during the iPhone 15 series launch event in September. The graphic-intensive game, originally designed for platforms such as PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, is now optimized for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max thanks to the new A17 Pro GPU. Additionally, the game can be played on iPad Pro and iPad Air models powered by M1 and M2 chips, as well as on Mac computers featuring M1, M2, or M3 chips.
The App Store listing for Resident Evil 4 was made live in September, with the game priced at Rs. 3,599. A limited portion of the base game is accessible for free, while full access necessitates in-app purchases. Currently, the main game is available on the Capcom website and the App Store with a promotional 50 percent discount, lowering the price to Rs. 1,799 until January 17. Players who make a purchase before this date will also receive bonus attache cases and charms. The Separate Ways DLC and the Extra DLC Pack are priced at Rs. 589 and Rs. 859, respectively.
Players who opt to use the touchscreen for gameplay may encounter cluttered on-screen controls, as Apple recommends using a compatible controller for an optimal experience. It’s important to note that save data cannot be transferred between macOS and iOS devices. The game requires iOS 17.0 or later on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPadOS 17.0 on compatible iPad models, and macOS 13.0 or later on eligible Macs.

In Resident Evil 4, players step into the role of federal agent Leon S. Kennedy, tasked with rescuing the president’s daughter. His journey leads him to a secluded village in rural Spain, where he confronts a dangerous cult shrouded in dark mysteries and a legion of hostile followers. This survival horror title incorporates a third-person shooting mechanic with an “over-the-shoulder” perspective, a gameplay style that gained prominence with the release of the original Resident Evil 4.
Alongside the RE4 remake, Capcom also launched Resident Evil Village, a first-person survival horror game from 2021, for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPads equipped with M1 chips and above on October 30.
