HP Unveils World’s Lightest Gaming Laptop at CES

At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES), HP has unveiled the HP Omen Transcend 14 laptop, marking the debut of a new addition to its Omen series of gaming notebooks. This 14-inch model joins the ranks of the HP Omen Transcend 16, Omen 16, and Victus 16.1. HP asserts that the Omen Transcend 14 is the lightest and coolest 14-inch gaming laptop available, equipped with an OLED display, local AI functionalities, and an RGB backlit keyboard. It operates on the latest Intel Core Ultra chipsets and is offered in two distinct color options.

Pricing and Availability of the HP Omen Transcend 14

The HP Omen Transcend 14 is now available for pre-order through the HP website, with a starting price of $1,499.99 (approximately Rs. 1,24,510) for the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H edition. Conversely, the model equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 9 185H will retail for $2,249.99 (around Rs. 1,86,772). U.S. consumers can also find the laptop on BestBuy.com, while HP has yet to confirm availability dates for the Indian market. Color choices for the Omen Transcend 14 include Shadow Black and Ceramic White.

Specifications of the HP Omen Transcend 14

Running on Windows 11 Home, the HP Omen Transcend 14 is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor that can reach speeds of up to 5.1GHz, featuring 16 cores and 22 threads. It can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR5x RAM and offers storage options up to 2TB SSD.

The laptop boasts a 14-inch 2.8K (2880 x 1800) OLED display that supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and achieves peak brightness levels of 400 nits. For graphics, it includes integrated Intel Arc graphics, with the option for up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 discrete GPU. The Core Ultra 7 model typically comes with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 series GPU, alongside 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD.

Equipped with a 6-cell, 71Wh battery, the Omen Transcend 14 can be charged via a 140W USB Type-C adapter, capable of reaching 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes thanks to its fast charge technology. HP claims that the device can deliver over 8 hours of battery life on a full charge.

The laptop is well-connected, featuring Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, one Thunderbolt 4 USB Type-C port with power delivery, one additional USB Type-C port, two USB Type-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone jack. It is also equipped with an HP True Vision 1080p webcam, dual array digital microphones, dual speakers, and an IR thermal sensor. Along with the purchase, customers receive a one-month free trial of Xbox Game Pass.

Measuring 12.32 x 9.19 x 0.67 inches and weighing around 1.75 kg, the Omen Transcend 14 presents a portable option for gamers on the move.
