Perplexity has launched a new premium subscription tier, named Perplexity Max, which targets the platform’s most active users. Priced at $200 per month (approximately Rs. 17,000), this subscription is designed to provide enhanced services and features for those heavily invested in the platform. To attract subscribers, the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence (AI) company is offering early access to upcoming features, priority access to third-party models, and elevated rate limits. The Perplexity Pro and Enterprise Pro subscriptions remain unaffected by this new addition.
Perplexity Max to Grant Early Access to the Comet Browser
In a blog post, the company detailed the offerings of its new subscription tier. With the introduction of Perplexity Max, the company aligns itself with other major players in the industry, such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic, which have recently released their own $200 subscription plans. This trend of premium subscription models is gaining traction among Silicon Valley AI firms, with smaller entities like Cursor also launching similar options.
Subscribers to Perplexity Max will have unrestricted access to Perplexity Labs, a newly launched feature that enables users to create reports, spreadsheets, dashboards, and web applications. Currently, access to this feature is limited to paying subscribers, while Pro users face rate limitations.

The company also aims to roll out new features and products for this subscription tier. Notably, one of the initial benefits will include early access to the AI-centric Comet browser, which was first hinted at back in February. Furthermore, subscribers will gain access to “more premium data sources and exclusive perks from leading brands.”
Moreover, users of Perplexity Max will be able to utilize advanced AI models including OpenAI’s o3-pro and Claude Opus 4. Those requiring assistance with these flagship models for specific projects will receive prioritized support.
Perplexity Max is available for both web and iOS users starting today. Prospective users can sign up immediately, and current subscribers have the option to enhance their existing plans. The company has also indicated plans to introduce an enterprise version of Max, which will feature unlimited access to Labs queries in the future.
