Vivo X Fold 5 was recently launched in China, and the smartphone manufacturer is now hinting at a release in India. The specific launch date for the Indian market is anticipated to be revealed shortly. The Indian model is expected to closely resemble its Chinese version.
The Vivo X Fold 5 comes equipped with an 8.03-inch flexible inner display along with a 6.53-inch cover screen, both utilizing advanced 8T LTPO technology. When folded, the device measures approximately 9.2mm in thickness and reduces to 4.3mm when unfolded. Furthermore, Vivo has also teased the imminent arrival of the X200 FE model in India.

Vivo has shared a teaser regarding the launch of the X Fold 5 in India via a post on X. Details about the official launch date are expected soon. A banner on Flipkart has confirmed that the foldable smartphone will be available for purchase through the e-commerce platform.
According to an official landing page for the Vivo X Fold 5, the device will be powered by a robust 6,000mAh battery, supporting 80W wired and 40W wireless fast charging, much like its Chinese counterpart. Additionally, it is expected to hold an IP5X dust resistance rating and IPX8+IPX9 certifications for water resistance.
The Vivo X Fold 5 claims to be freeze resistant down to –20°C, featuring a Carbon Fibre Support Hinge that has reportedly been tested for up to 600,000 openings and closings. The Indian version of the handset is projected to weigh around 217g.
In terms of cameras, the Vivo X Fold 5 will boast a Zeiss-supported triple rear camera configuration, which includes a 50-megapixel telephoto lens. The device is also said to support AI Image Studio features. A dedicated Shortcut Button will provide quick access to various functions such as sound modes, torch, camera, notes, and recording.
The triple rear camera setup additionally features a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the smartphone will include 20-megapixel front-facing cameras situated on both the internal and external displays. Under the hood, the Vivo X Fold 5 will be driven by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
