The upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) is set to commence on February 26, featuring a variety of brands that will highlight the latest trends and advancements in mobile technology. With the event approaching, Tecno, a subsidiary of China’s Transsion Holdings, has confirmed its participation. At MWC, Tecno plans to introduce an augmented reality (AR) gaming set that includes AR glasses, along with a robotic canine. Additionally, the company will present a new smartphone from its Pova series.
In a press release issued on February 6, Tecno announced its intention to reveal its latest innovations during the congress. Among the key attractions will be the Dynamic 1, a robotic dog equipped with artificial intelligence that mimics the characteristics of a German Shepherd. This device is designed to intuitively respond to commands and execute lifelike movements.
Tecno will also unveil its inaugural Windows AR gaming handheld, named Pocket Go, which merges AR glasses with a portable gaming device. This compact gadget is designed for ease of transport. Furthermore, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro 5G smartphone will have its global launch at MWC 2024, alongside discussions around the company’s advanced AI and AR technologies, including Universal Tone technology and additional new concepts.
During the event, Tecno is anticipated to reveal its first rollable smartphone, the Phantom Ultimate. This device was initially shown in prototype form with a rollable display in September 2022. The Phantom Ultimate features a 6.55-inch display that expands to 7.11 inches at the push of a button, transforming into a compact tablet. This innovative handset is equipped with a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistor (TFT) rollable display produced by CSOT.
Mobile World Congress 2024 is scheduled to take place from February 26 to February 29 in Barcelona, Spain.
