This announcement is anticipated to alleviate the concerns of Tesla shareholders, who have expressed anxiety regarding Musk’s focus on revitalizing Twitter alongside his responsibilities at SpaceX.
Following the announcement, Tesla’s shares experienced a 2.4 percent increase in trading volume.
The billionaire’s initial two weeks as Twitter’s new owner in October were characterized by swift changes, including the dismissal of the former CEO Parag Agrawal and other key executives, as well as significant layoffs affecting half of the company’s workforce in November.
Musk has described himself as a staunch advocate for free speech, stating that he took control of Twitter in order to combat the platform’s descent into an echo chamber of hate and division.
He has also vowed to tackle the issue of spam bots on Twitter, an important aspect of his negotiations with the company’s board concerning his $54 billion acquisition of the firm.
