Funcom announced on Monday that its survival game, Dune: Awakening, has surpassed one million copies sold, establishing it as the fastest-selling title in the developer’s history. Released on PC via Steam earlier this month, the game has garnered positive reviews from critics.
Dune: Awakening Reaches One Million Sales
The milestone was shared by Funcom on the official game website, accompanied by an infographic showcasing various player statistics.
“Dune: Awakening launched on June 10, and we’re thrilled to announce that 1,000,000 players have awakened! This achievement makes it Funcom’s fastest-selling game to date,” the studio stated. “For context, Conan Exiles took an entire year to reach this sales figure. We are truly grateful for this incredible support.”
The developer also expressed their excitement about the community’s engagement: “The launch has been nothing short of a Coriolis storm, and we continue to experience that powerful energy. We’ve witnessed extraordinary moments, from impressive base constructions to thrilling encounters with Shai-Hulud, as well as the various struggles, victories, and even heroic failures.”
Player Engagement on Steam
Since its launch, Dune: Awakening has maintained robust player counts on Steam, achieving an all-time peak of nearly 190,000 concurrent players, according to data from SteamDB charts. The game ranks among the top ten most-played games on the platform within the last 24 hours.
In an open letter to the gaming community on Monday, Funcom revealed plans to enhance the game’s experience for PvE players, allowing them to enjoy end-game content without the disruptions of PvP encounters. The updates will enable players to progress within the shared open world more freely, according to the studio.

Dune: Awakening was released on Steam on June 10.
