On Sunday, Amazon India introduced its new diagnostics services, designed to pick up test samples directly from customers’ homes. Known as Amazon Diagnostics, this service allows users to book laboratory tests, manage appointments, and receive digital reports all through the Amazon app. Launched in collaboration with Orange Health Labs, the service is initially available in six major cities across the country.

The diagnostics service will be accessible in six cities, namely Bengaluru, Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. Customers can visit a specific page on the Orange Health Labs website to book tests online, schedule appointments, and view their results digitally.
A key convenience feature allows users to arrange for sample pickup within 60 minutes, available from 6 am to 10 pm. For standard tests, customers can receive their digital reports in as little as six hours. Currently, the service spans over 450 pin codes and provides access to an extensive range of more than 800 diagnostic tests.
This launch marks a significant expansion of Amazon’s healthcare offerings in India, which already include virtual doctor consultations through Amazon Clinic and home delivery of prescription medications via Amazon Pharmacy.
The company has emphasized its commitment to delivering a cohesive user experience that encompasses features such as real-time appointment tracking, map-based address validation, and secure access to digital reports via the Amazon Health dashboard. Although Amazon assures that it adheres to stringent data privacy and quality standards, specific details regarding these measures have not been disclosed.
With the introduction of Amazon Diagnostics, the company has ventured into India’s burgeoning $15 billion diagnostics market, currently dominated by both major corporations and local laboratories that typically provide on-site testing services. At-home diagnostics have gained traction over the past decade, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
