Adobe has launched the Firefly mobile app, an integrated platform for its generative AI models, now accessible on both iPhone and Android devices. This innovative application allows users to create images and videos through text prompts, and it offers advanced photo-editing tools designed for creative professionals who require mobility in their workflows.
Available for iOS and Android, the Firefly app features text-to-image, text-to-video, and image-to-video capabilities, along with Generative Fill and Generative Expand tools paralleling those found in Adobe Photoshop. The app also incorporates third-party AI models like Google’s Imagen 3 and 4, Veo 2 and 3, and OpenAI’s image generator to enhance creative options.
All creations made within the Firefly mobile app will automatically sync to the user’s Creative Cloud account, facilitating seamless transitions to web or desktop applications. Similar to the desktop Firefly app, some AI features on mobile will require users to utilize Firefly credits, which can be acquired through monthly plans or a separate subscription for Firefly credits.
In addition, Adobe has enhanced the collaborative features of its Firefly Boards whiteboard platform, which is currently in public beta. Users can now remix video clips and create new footage using either Adobe’s Firefly video model or third-party solutions like Google’s Veo 3. The platform will also welcome new AI models, such as Luma AI’s Ray 2 and Runway’s Gen-4, soon, expanding creative possibilities within Firefly Boards and other features of the app.
