The Nvidia AI Summit in India commenced on Thursday with CEO Jensen Huang taking center stage, dressed in his iconic black leather jacket. In his opening remarks, he expressed the significance of India to the global computer and IT sectors, stating, “India is very, very dear to the world’s computer industry and central to the IT industry.” Huang’s keynote focused on the advancements in technologies such as generative artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, and computer vision, along with their widespread implications.

During his address, Huang elaborated on the evolution of AI, pointing out the nearing conclusion of Moore’s Law—the principle that predicts the doubling of transistors in integrated circuits approximately every two years. This shift, he suggested, indicates that technology depreciation may plateau, leading to increased access costs for technological innovations.
Building on this discussion, Huang emphasized that AI has the potential to drive a software-centric growth trajectory in technology, ensuring ongoing development and depreciation at a consistent pace. He also noted Nvidia’s robust AI infrastructure in India, which is enhancing the country’s AI ecosystem.
Shifting focus to Nvidia’s technology offerings, Huang detailed the company’s Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) platform. He asserted that CUDA has played a pivotal role in accelerating various key industries, including semiconductors, manufacturing, and computation.
Nvidia’s Blackwell GPUs Will Be Shipped to Customers in Q4
A significant highlight from Huang’s presentation was the announcement that the Blackwell B200 GPUs would be delivered to customers by the fourth quarter of 2024. This comes after a recent design issue was identified in the chipsets, which temporarily delayed the rollout of the latest Nvidia chips aimed at enhancing AI workflow performance. Nvidia has acknowledged this error and confirmed that the problem has now been rectified.
While discussing collaborations in India, Huang recognized several partners, including Tata Communications, Infosys, Flipkart, and Reliance, who are utilizing Nvidia’s technology stack to create solutions for both Indian and global markets. Furthermore, the company is investing in developing Hindi-based large language models (LLMs) through partnerships with local startups and enterprises. “Once you have cracked LLMs in India, you can build in any part of the World,” Huang stated.
Huang also introduced the concept of agentic AI models—advanced chatbots capable of completing intricate tasks autonomously. He mentioned Nvidia’s commitment to developing platforms that empower other companies to harness this technology for their own applications, highlighting that such agentic AI systems could elevate employees to “super employees,” thereby enhancing overall productivity.
