WhatsApp has introduced a new support feature that enables users to connect directly with customer service to address queries or report issues within the application. The recent update, version 2.2322.1.0 of WhatsApp beta for Windows, comes with an in-app chat support functionality designed to enhance user convenience by facilitating support through WhatsApp chats. This feature, dubbed ‘Contact Us,’ allows Windows users to reach out for assistance without leaving the app. Similar in-app support is already available on the iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp.

As reported by WABetaInfo, this chat support feature is currently being rolled out to beta users on Windows. While the feature is associated with version 2.2322.1.0, users with older versions may also have access. To utilize this support option, WhatsApp beta users on Windows are required to download the latest version from the Microsoft Store, per the report.

This new in-app chat support aims to streamline the process for Windows users, eliminating the need to revert to email for customer assistance. After updating to the 2.2322.1.0 beta version, users can select the ‘Contact Us’ option to communicate directly with the support team regarding their inquiries or problems.

WABetaInfo showcased a screenshot demonstrating the ‘Contact Us’ feature, which presents a window for users to submit their queries while optional device information can also be included. Responses from the support team will be delivered via WhatsApp chat, though users still have the choice to receive replies through email if preferred.

Globally, WhatsApp boasts a user base of over two billion monthly active users, providing instant messaging alongside voice and video call functionalities. To maintain its competitive edge and user engagement, the app frequently tests and rolls out new features, as part of its ongoing development efforts.

Recently, a series of new features have been identified in Meta’s development pipeline, which WhatsApp is exploring for future updates.

For instance, the platform may soon debut a ChatGPT-like chatbot that engages users in various personas. Additionally, last month, the company shared advancements in testing AI tools designed to generate image backgrounds and variations for advertising campaigns.

Moreover, users of WhatsApp on Windows will soon encounter a “call back” prompt in the chatbox of the individual who initiated a call, aiming to ensure that all calls on the platform are acknowledged.
