Microsoft has launched its business-focused “Link” mini-desktop PC, now available for purchase at a price of $349.99 in the United States and multiple other countries. Announced last November, the Windows 365 Link is designed to simplify IT management and decrease the necessity for direct support, making it a streamlined option for organizations.
Many who have worked in environments with internal IT departments may be familiar with “thin client” PCs that operate by connecting to a local server for a virtual Windows experience. The Windows 365 Link modernizes this concept by enabling cloud connectivity, allowing users to work remotely from home or any location. The device is engineered for quick boot times, improving overall user experience compared to traditional thin clients. Microsoft reports that the Link has undergone testing with over 100 organizations to refine its software ahead of the product’s release.
Targeted primarily at business users, the Windows 365 Link isn’t readily available for individual consumer purchase. Interested buyers must contact a Microsoft account team or an authorized reseller, and purchasing may require buying multiple units. The device can be found in several countries including the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, Germany, Japan, and New Zealand.
