Over the weekend, Google announced the broadening of access to its Veo 3 video generation model, which is now being introduced in 71 additional countries. The tech powerhouse from Mountain View revealed the expansion on Saturday, making the AI model available through the Gemini app and its web platform. Currently, usage of the AI video generator is limited to paid subscribers of Gemini. The Veo 3 model was unveiled during the Google I/O 2025 event last week and features several enhancements, including the capability for native audio generation.
Veo 3 Is Now Available in 71 Countries
Josh Woodward, Vice President at Google Labs and Gemini, shared the details of the Veo 3 rollout in a post on X (formerly Twitter). He noted that the initial rollout does not include countries within the European Union, the United Kingdom, or India.
In response to a question about the timeline for availability in India, Woodward stated via another post, “Working to enable India as fast as we can!”
Some of the countries gaining access to Veo 3 include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the US, and Zimbabwe.
Access to Veo 3 is exclusive to subscribers of Google AI Pro (formerly Google One AI Premium) and Google AI Ultra plans. Pro subscribers can only use the video generation model via the Gemini web platform, with Woodward indicating that mobile app access will follow shortly.
At this stage, Pro subscribers are being provided with a limited trial offering of 10 video generations, with no options for refreshes or additional credits within this subscription tier. In contrast, Ultra plan subscribers, priced at $249.99 (approximately Rs. 21,000), will enjoy access to Veo 3 on both the Gemini mobile app and website, benefiting from higher rate limits and daily refreshes, although the specific limits have not yet been disclosed.
Moreover, during the I/O 2025, Google introduced the Flow app, an AI-driven filmmaking tool. Pro subscribers will receive 10 video generations per month through Flow, while Ultra subscribers will benefit from 125 video generations each month.
