Google has officially launched its NotebookLM mobile application for both Android and iOS platforms. According to a blog post by Biao Wang, product manager at Google Labs, the app is now accessible on Google Play and the App Store for iPadOS users.
The mobile version of NotebookLM has been one of the most requested features among users. It mirrors many functions found in the desktop version, allowing users to upload information sources for summarization. Additionally, the app includes the capability to create AI-generated Audio Overviews, resembling podcasts. These overviews can be listened to in the background or offline, providing a practical way for users to stay updated, such as with important performance reviews.
The announcement follows a teaser release last month, indicating the app’s impending launch. It arrives just before the much-anticipated Google I/O event, which commences on Tuesday with its opening keynote at 1 PM ET. Anticipation mounts for what is expected to be a showcase of AI innovations.
Update as of May 19th: The iOS version of the app has been made available to users.
