Samsung is experiencing a dynamic year in 2025, characterized by significant product launches. Following the introduction of the Galaxy S25 Ultra with its updated design, the company has also unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge. However, more innovations are on the horizon, particularly with the anticipated Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is set to receive substantial upgrades this year. Additionally, a new tri-fold smartphone model is reportedly under development, with its pricing and launch details now surfacing online.
According to tipster Yogesh Brar, the tri-fold device from Samsung is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2025. This timeline appears to conflict with earlier reports suggesting that the larger foldable model would not be released until after this year’s Galaxy Z series.
The leaker has reiterated previously shared information, indicating that the tri-fold model will have a limited release, targeting sales primarily in South Korea and China.
This new Galaxy smartphone is expected to have a restricted production run, which means it will be available in limited quantities. It is currently unclear if Samsung plans to increase production based on demand. Given the projected price range of $3,000 (approximately Rs. 2,56,200) to $3,500 (around Rs. 2,98,900), the device may attract only a select group of buyers.
Unlike standard book-style foldables, which feature a large display and a single hinge, Samsung appears to be pursuing a design similar to the Huawei Mate XT Ultimate, which incorporates two hinges.
Previous patent leaks have shown designs with both two and three hinges, along with four connected panels. These advanced foldables are designed to unfold into full-size tablets, moving beyond the current generation of devices that typically only provide the combined width of two standard smartphone displays side by side.
